Devotion to the Sacred Heart

Sacred Heart

This devotion goes back to Saint Margaret Mary, a religious sister who died in France in 1715.

Jesus gave this humble Sister the task of making known the riches of His Sacred Heart, so that we would come to Him as a source of forgiveness and love.

Christ’s revelations to her show that He continues to try in every possible way to get us to return His Love.

These are the promises made by Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary and to all who honor His Sacred Heart:

  1. I will establish peace in their homes.

  2. I will comfort them in their sorrows.

  3. I will be their secure refuge in this life and especially at the hour of their death.

  4. I will bless all their undertakings.

  5. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and the infinite ocean of mercy.

  6. Tepid souls shall become fervent.

  7. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.

  8. I will bless every place where an image of My Sacred Heart is displayed and honored.

  9. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life.

  10. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.

  11. Those who promote this devotion shall have their names permanently written in My Heart.

  12. I promise that My all-powerful love will grant to all who receive communion on nine consecutive first Fridays of the month, the grace of final repentance. They shall not die in My disgrace or without receiving the sacraments. My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.

To overcome the things that pull you down, practice this devotion each day. The promises of the Sacred Heart guarantee your success.

You honor the Sacred Heart by saying the praises of the Sacred Heart and by having a picture representing the Sacred Heart in your home.
