Further Prayers in the Jesuit Tradition
In Weakness is Our Strength
When we examine our conscience, we discover our weaknesses. We see the same mistakes and the same sins repeated.
Many things need to be changed, but it is not easy. We may not have the strength. But there is One who can give us the strength... Jesus Christ.
Saint Paul knew that his dependency on God was the source of his strength... "When I am weak, then I am strong."
Usually it is in our pain and our brokenness that we turn to Jesus. We realize that we can't do it ourselves, so we cry out, "Jesus, please help me." And He always answers.
All that we have to do is stay close to Him and trust Him. When you are hurting and are heavily burdened say: "Jesus, I give my life to you." And He will be your strength.
To Better Connect with The Lord
- Work on forgiving anyone who has hurt you... no matter what has happened.
- Go to confession for Christ's forgiveness.
- Learn to rely on Jesus... it is not necessary to tell Him how to handle your problem.
- In your daily prayers thank Jesus for His love and mercy.
