Teach Me

saintignatiusofloyola.jpg

Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous.

Teach me to serve you as you deserve;

to give and not to count the cost;

to fight and not to heed the wounds;

to toil and not to seek for rest;

to labor and not to seek reward,

save that of knowing that I do your will.

St. Ignatius Loyola

Dedication of the Day

Father, I dedicate this new day to you;
as I go about my work.
I ask you to bless those with whom I come in contact.

Lord, I pray for all men and women
who work to earn their living;
Give them satisfaction in what they do.

Spirit of God,
comfort the unemployed and their families;
they are your children and my brothers and sisters.
I ask you to help them find work soon.

Take Lord, and Receive

Take Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding,
and my entire will — all that I have and call my own.
You have given it all to me. To you, Lord, I return it.
Everything is yours; do with it what you will.
Give me only your love and your grace. That is enough for me.

(Ignatius of Loyola 1491 - 1556)
